We had 11th Annual Society of St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor© Walk/Run to benefit local SVdeP conferences providing services to the needy of metro New Orleans on Saturday, September 28, New Orleans City Park Reunion Shelter & Festival Grounds, Friedrichs Avenue @ Wisner Boulevard.
Members of the St. Francis Xavier chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society joined East Jefferson Deanery President Conner Ellis working for the annual Walk/Run for the Poor.
Additionally, the school’s Young Vincentians Service organization under the direction of Middle School Math teacher, Rob Adoue participated in the event. When the race began, the St. Francis Young Vincentians were the first in line at the start because for the last four years, they have raised the most money for the event — this year, $3,620. In addition to the Walk/ Run, there was good food, desserts, and games for all.
Registration/check-in/t-shirts at 8:00 A.M. ; warm-up and one-mile walk at 8:45 A.M. There’ll be free t-shirts, refreshments, music and games.
