       The month of October is annually observed by the Catholic Church in the United States as Respect Life Month. We are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between.                     At such a time as this, we become even more aware of the need for messengers of God’s love and instruments of His healing. We realize again, with renewed urgency, our personal call to help others encounter God’s transforming, life-giving love and to defend the sanctity of every person’s life, at every stage and in every circumstance.

       The "Respect Life" theme in 2018 is “Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent,” highlighting our call to build a culture of life as missionary disciples. This year's theme draws on the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego. Mary appeared to him as a pregnant indigenous woman. She "sent him with miraculous flowers in his cloak to tell the bishop to build a church where people could receive her Son and her loving, tender care."
          "By embracing the mission entrusted to him, St. Juan Diego helped bring Christ's transforming love to cultures gripped by oppression and death," says the reflection. "Like St. Juan Diego, let us embrace our daily mission to help others encounter God's transforming, life-giving love."
           We are called and sent to be messengers of God’s love, treating one another as cherished and chosen by Him. In doing so, we help build a culture that respects all human life. The Body of Christ needs you. The world needs you.

40 days for Life: On Sunday October 14, our parish has prayer vigil to end abortion from 7:00AM to 7:00PM at the Abortion Clinic "Women's Health care center". 

Baby bottle campaign:  In the weekend October 27-28, 2018; our parish has an annual Baby Bottle Campaign for Life collecting funds to the Woman's New Life Ministry. Woman’s New Life Center is a non-profit professional counseling center and medical clinic serving women and families struggling with an unplanned pregnancy and reproductive health issues. They aslo support their organization dedicated to saving babies and their mothers from abortion. Please take a bottle after each Mass of this weekend and return it the following weekend with coins, dollars, or checks to support this ministry!
