Our Knights of Columbus is a Catholic organization that promotes Catholicism, youth programs, activities and vocations. Our members are involved in a variety of service projects and sponsor several community-oriented activities throughout the year.
At St. Francis Xavier parish, our council is a purpose-driven volunteer fraternal and family organization that focuses on activities that enhance our faith through spiritual education, assists parishioners through charitable activities, and works to strengthen families and our church community through activities that build on unity and patriotism.
Faith, Family, and Fraternity make up the foundation upon which the Knights of Columbus stands. Our programs and projects make a difference in communities and countries throughout the world.
The Knights of Columbus began in 1882 when Father Micheal J. McGivney called together a small group of pioneering Catholic laymen and founded a society designed to promote the concepts of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Today, Knights and their families remain true to these principles and work to spread Columbianism. There are over 1.8 million members in nearly 13,000 local units called Councils throughout the world. We are the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society which has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
When you join the Knights of Columbus, you become a part of one of the largest Catholic lay organizations in the world. Our diversity is our strength and an asset in searching for ways to make every day life better. You and your family will benefit from membership in the Knights of Columbus. Join today and make a better tomorrow. Please go to www.kofc.org and clik on “Become a Knight” for more information.
